RIP - 12/08/2025

This was a volunteer run, nonprofit site dedicated to opensource development of free, SMS-based remote control software for home automation.

It provided resources aimed at allowing the ordinary user to create their own bespoke phone-based home automation controller.

It included a user forum where one could request the basic software to be modified, and custom versions of the software to be built for download by users themselves unfamiliar with programming.

Under the guise of 'online safety', the current UK government has implemented legislation that now makes it virtually impossible for such sites to operate.

Perhaps if the UK government changes, we will be able to return. For now, compliance with the vastly overweening regulation is simply too expensive in terms of money, effort and legal risk to the provider.
